Bilbao, SPAIN: The international contest BiscayApp, organised by the Provincial Council of Biscay (Spain), kicks off its third edition stronger than ever. The final of this years’ edition, where the winners will be announced, will take place in October 2018.
The four categories are: Silver Economy, Data Intelligence, Energy and Advanced Manufacturing. The aim of this contest is to get to know the best mobile apps of today’s world.
The prizes are the same as last year: €2,000 for the apps that win any of the four categories and, best of all, €10,000 and further support for the incubation of the project for the most outstanding app of them all. This prize is supported by the economic promotion entities Beaz, Seed CAPITAL and BiscayTik Foundation.
The criteria followed for the winning app candidate selection will be based in usability, design, user experience, functionality, viability, innovation and marketing possibilities, provided that these apps correspond to the following categories:
Silver Economy: category aimed at those apps that deal with today’s society challenges, highlighting silver economy, which focuses on the elderly sector.
Data intelligence: category based on providing in an intelligent or profitable manner information and data to a local trade or business.
Energy: category aimed at sustainability and responsible use of energy. In short, green and ecological apps, both for home and business.
Advanced Manufacturing: this category talks about the concept Industry 4.0. It consists of digitalisation of the industrial process via artificial intelligence interaction and resource optimization.
The deadline for nominations will be open until June 30, 2018. The two finalists in each category will be announced in the first fortnight of September 2018, chaired by the expert jury. These finalists will present their apps to the jury at a final gala which will take place in October 2018 and where the final verdict will be announced.
